A pretty daily wear pair of earrings in the Malakeh collection that balance a subtle die cut ornamental background with a more geometric accent in gold plated silver. The collection is designed for Arastan by Puja Bhargava Kamath of Lai. Inspired by the design vocabulary and aesthetics of Islamic Central Asia, the pieces are crafted in Sterling silver with gold-plated silver and semi-precious stone accents. The designs are derived from decorative geometric and floral motifs occurring on the textiles, floor tiles and metal crafts of the region. The satin finish gives the piece a luxurious feel.
A graduate from NIFT, New Delhi and a gemmologist, Puja has won many design awards including those from DeBeers, World Gold Council and Perles de Tahiti.
