Crafted in the 14th century Timurid tradition of metal working, this intricately carved platter is hand chiseled, fired and sanded, often multiple times, to give it perfect finish and lustre. It is a fascinating example of brass relief work accentuated by an innovative blackening of the lowered surface. Created from the imagination of a master kandakor (embosser), this platter has a beautiful octagonal flower patterning.
