Dancing Flowers Khamseh Carpet

An unusually dramatic south Persian rug, most likely to have been woven by the Khamseh tribe. In a very rare and sought after squarish size. These rugs are sometimes referred to as “gol firangi”, signifying rugs with flowers destined for the western art markets. The deep indigo blue field is full of flowers in full bloom, skilfully arranged to create the impression that the rug is dancing! A classic wide main border frames the field, and is, in turn, filled with more flowers. Two narrow elegant white minor borders frame the main border, each filled with stylised birds.
