Eight Trapeziums Moroccan Bronze Ceiling Lamp

This striking ceiling lamp from Fes represents the very best in the Moroccan tradition of making light fixtures from perforated metal. Its elegant design—intended to dramatically fill a tall vertical space—centres on a band of eight projecting trapeziums, surmounted by a tapering pagoda-like roof and complemented by a charming upside-down turban at the lower end. The crisscross surface of the trapeziums and the arabesques elsewhere suggest an ornate gilded cage by daytime, whilst at night the lamp throws a captivating wheel pattern on the floor.

Moroccan ceiling lamps, which are made of brass, bronze or copper, are known for their elaborate metalwork decoration, and for casting characteristic patterns of light and shadow. When illuminated at night, they bestow on the surrounding interior space an exotic and alluring personality, and invariably set the mood for the social events unfolding below them.

This impressive lamp is best suited for a large reception space with high ceilings, such as a formal living room, a large entrance hall or foyer, or a grand stairwell. The height of the ceiling lamp may be adjusted by removing one or more rings from the chain. Electrical fittings are included. Bulbs are not included.
