Red and Yellow Double Diamond Panel Carpet

Anatolian Yuruk nomadic Kurdish rug, probably from eastern Anatolia headed down towards Iraq, south of Van in Turkey. Woven from outstanding fleecy high mountain wool and with all mellow dyes. The rug comprises two central diamond medallions partitioned by a horizontal separating bar. Each central medallion is, in turn, surrounded by four smaller lozenge medallions and geometric square shapes. The major border is on a beautiful yellow ground overlaid with simple quartered diamonds.
